Becoming a host

Are you interested in the opportunity to meet people of diverse backgrounds? Exposing your family to different cultures and customs? Would you like to share your home with a foreign student? Before answering YES to these questions please consider the following:

  • 1. Students need the family to set aside time for them. You also cannot leave town for extended periods of time during their stay.
  • 2. All family members must be open to having a person of a different culture and background in their home, sharing in their family activities.

In exchange for all this, the host family will obtain the experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories. In addition, the host family will receive a monthly payment which they can apply to their monthly household bills. This remuneration will depend on the age of the student, chosen meal plan and room selection.

Host families must also make sure that they have enough home insurance. You will have to revise your existing policy and speak to your insurance provider to include your new family member living in your home. Premier Homestay does not assume any responsibility for any injury the visitor may suffer while in your care.

All families must discuss their house rules with their visitors: Curfews, invited guests, missing family meals, keeping their personal space neat and clean, etc.
